Senior Services available at Neighborhood House
MEN & WOMEN 55 & BETTER The programs for men & women give them the opportunity to engage in various activities that foster independence, social interaction and good health. A menu of activities are offered that range from recreation to sewing to bus trips to playing cards & more. During organized events, a nutritious meal and entertainment is provided to each participant.
TUESDAY CLUB A hot lunch is served at noon, followed by a brief meeting, cards and Bingo! Exercise led by a personal trainer happens three times a month. Purpose of exercise classes are to increase and maintain flexibility and endurance. Transportation is available each way. Tuesday Club members have enjoyed trips to Great Oaks Camp, Peoria Zoo, to watch bald eagles, special holiday meals and entertainment, Conklin’s Dinner Theater, cookouts, Farmer’s Market, to experience Amish life, monthly Hult Center presentations, an annual Tanner’s Orchard trip and Peoria Historical Trolley rides.. PAPER ROLLERS This group meets every Thursday to roll newspapers for the PAWS. They arrive around 8:30 a.m. and roll papers until after lunch.
QUILTERS The ladies meet every Monday and Thursday, 7:30-11:30. They enjoy making and finishing quilts for people. The quilters enjoy sharing stories about their families and loved ones. Always looking for new quilters, no experience necessary. They will teach anyone over 12 how to quilt. Quilters enjoy a free lunch.
