A Historic Union for Greater Impact
On January 1st, 2020, Neighborhood House and Common Place joined forces in a historic merger that broadened our ability to serve the Greater Peoria community. This strategic union combined over 150 years of collective experience in community service and education, bringing together two organizations with deep roots in the Peoria community.
Enhanced Services For Peoria
By merging our resources and expertise, we are now better positioned to:
- Expand our adult education programming to include comprehensive literacy and GED programs
- Strengthen our ability to reduce barriers for clients seeking employment
- Maximize the impact of every dollar through combined administrative resources
- Ensure sustainable growth and support for the 61605 zip code and surrounding areas
Continuing Our Legacy of Adaptive Service
Since 1896, Neighborhood House has evolved to meet the changing needs of our community. From establishing the first medical clinic on Peoria’s south side to delivering meals to over 1,000 seniors annually through our Meals on Wheels program, we have consistently adapted our services to address the most pressing needs of our neighbors.
Meanwhile, Common Place Peoria has served the community since 1967, focusing on educational achievement for all. Their legacy of empowerment in education continues through this merger with Neighborhood House by helping to create a hub of resources for the Greater Peoria Community.
